We love the city of Davenport, Iowa, for its rich history, myriad of cultural and entertainment options, and plentiful dining opportunities. Davenport is part of the Quad Cities, which consists of Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa and Moline, East Moline, and Rock Island in Illinois. Even with everything that is going on in the Quad Cities, we think Davenport still feels like a friendly and hospitable small town, which complements our family-like school atmosphere at Capri College.
When you aren’t in school, you might want to check out the many things to do along the Mississippi River and in the cultural centers of Davenport. We have an art museum, a museum of history and natural sciences, an IMAX theater, and live musical performances at The River Music Experience. At various times of the year, you could go to music festivals, art festivals, Broadway shows, symphony performances, and much more. Going out to eat is always an adventure as there are many bars and grilles, pubs, and restaurants throughout the city.
We purposely keep our class sizes small at Capri College, so students can receive a more personalized education with plenty of interaction with the instructors.
Students who take our programs can finish their education much faster than students in traditional colleges. For instance, cosmetology is our longest program, and students can complete it in as little as 52 weeks.
Also, we believe that beauty school students learn best through hands-on experience. We do have a classroom component to our education, but many of the hours are spent practicing skills in the student salon and spa under the direct supervision of licensed instructors.
We prepare students to be career-ready after graduation. Although we can’t guarantee employment, we do teach students business skills and then help them find placement through our strong connections with local salons and spas.
