When you walk into Capri College in Waterloo, you are welcomed into a spacious reception area that opens into a 4,000-square-foot student salon and spa. This professional salon and spa environment features hair styling stations, manicure and pedicure areas, four treatment rooms, a retail boutique with professional hair, skin, and nail products, and branded college merchandise.
A spa clinic and classroom area are adjacent to the cosmetology clinic, and this is where students practice massage therapy and esthetics. This area includes nine private treatment rooms and two additional classrooms. The campus also features two more spacious classrooms, a student breakroom, and a locker area. Ample, well-lit parking is available on-site to meet the needs of both students and guests.
The Waterloo campus is a one-story independent strip mall complex that also includes a fitness center, barber shop, and Red Tails Wrestling.
There are multiple hotels and local attractions in the Waterloo area, including Lost Island Waterpark, Lost Island Themepark, and the Isle Casino Hotel. There is a thriving arts and museum district, a revitalized downtown, sports venues, restaurants, and much more to keep you entertained when you aren’t in school! Cedar River flows through the center of Waterloo, Iowa.
Yes, we are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), and the Waterloo campus received “School of Excellence” status in 2023.
Yes, students have the opportunity for free or discounted services at scheduled times throughout their training. Students also receive up to a 50% discount on most home care products.
Although we can’t guarantee job placement, the college maintains strong ties with local salons and spas, which can aid graduate employment. We have a good reputation in the community. Besides that, we teach business skills in our programs, so students can be prepared to enter the workforce once they have graduated.
The first way to make beauty school more affordable is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Our enrollment process involves filling out an application form, paying a $100 fee, touring the school, and completing a pre-admissions interview.
